Now that you’ve visited Froid through words and pictures, we invite you to come see first-hand this Last Best Place. When you visit, depending on the season, there are many choices for outdoor recreation including hiking, canoeing, swimming, cross-country skiing, golf, horseback riding, biking, boating, and snowmobiling.
This historic region also offers an array of historical destinations like Ft. Union, Ft. Buford, and The Confluence Interpretive Center, all on the Missouri River. Nearby Culbertson Museum showcases rooms of clothing, furniture, and artifacts from the cowboy and homesteader days.
West of Froid, is the Poplar Museum and Tribal Museum with the tribal history and artifacts of the Assiniboine Indian tribe. West of Poplar is Ft. Peck, site of one of the world’s largest earth dams. The Ft. Peck Interpretive Center contains fossils from dinosaurs that roamed Montana including the Tyrannosaurus Rex, discovered 20 miles southeast.
