The Last Best Place
Step into this part of Big Sky Country, and your senses will be awakened by the sights, sounds, and smells of life on the prairie. Starry, starry nights on the plains will take your breath away. Extravagant sunsets, the rising of a Harvest Moon, the honking of Canadian geese settling on the water for the night, and the eerie cry of the coyote recall a time when the land belonged to nature and her creatures. Once a vast inland sea, the remains of life at the beginning of time lie beneath the prairie grasses.
Glorious sunrises serenaded by the meadowlark, our state bird, and scented with lilac blossoms, new cut hay, or fresh fallen rain are common pleasures of the area. Get off the beaten path, and you will see where the deer and antelope roam and the countless birds, wild flowers and animals that await the curious explorer.
We welcome you to step into Froid’s Big Sky Country and experience the beauty and peace of the prairie, the friendliness of our town, and open hearts of its folk.
