Community

A Blend of Old and NewThe Davidson family at the town Christmas party.

Froid’s cherished tradition of a vibrant community life brings added value to the experience of living in a small town. When something needs doing you can count on neighbors, friends, or group of enthusiastic local folk to roll up their sleeves and do the job.  In 2008 a 7,200 square foot Community Center/Firehall was funded and built through the people of Froid who cleared the land, finished the interior, created the parking area, and contributed funding (Click here to see the Community Center Wall of Honor.) This efficient and attractive space with its state-of-the-art kitchen and geothermal  heating and cooling, is well used by the Froid community and local neighbors.

The Froid business community provides a range of quality goods and services for the Froid area and the region.  The Froid Commercial Club helps market these businesses and sponsors projects that benefit the community. Town services that are provided by trained volunteers and paid professionals include ambulance, fire, library, and postal.  Despite Froid’s small size nearly everyone is involved in service projects and initiatives that bring vitality, optimism, and purpose to the community.
